The Board of Trustees:

• Received the monthly reports on bus repairs/expenses and the use of school buses for special events.

• Granted permission for district personnel to travel out-of-state.

• Gave first approval of revisions to the following district policies: GBN "Suspension, Removal, and Non-renewal of Employment of Certified Employees", GCL/GDL "Requirements for a Year's Experience for All Personnel, and "Quality Points Policy".
• Gave first approval of revisions to the Student Code of Conduct & Discipline Plan and school handbooks.
• Approved a recommendation to continue student accident insurance coverage with Jerry Lyons Agency, P.A. for the 2001-2002 school year.
• Approved the recommendation to expel five students from school and placement of these students in the district's alternative program/day treatment class for the 2001-2002 school year.
• Accepted a transportation fuel bid from Buffalo Services for the FY 2002.
• Approved amendments to the FY 2001 budget.
• Accepted employment resignations submitted by Misti Stampley, teacher at CES; and Angela Hahn, teacher at CPS, 2-3.
• Approved the employment of Billy Royston as a summer bus shop worker, Matthew McCain Brian Temples, Christopher McClendon, Rico Mark, Randy Pressley, and Lonell Spencer, Jr. as summer maintenance workers.
• Approved the employment of the following persons for the 2001-2002 school year:

• Authorized the District to submit applications for funding IDEA and Preschool projects.
• Heard a report from the superintendent, which consisted of the Grand Jury report, minutes of administrative staff meetings, and board member training.
• Heard a report from Mr. Marvin Adams on the searchable school board policy database and Internet filtering.
• Rejected milk bids received and authorized the District to commit to the State Department of Child Nutrition Milk and Ice Cream Program for the 2001-2002 school year.
• Accepted donations from Mr. Thomas L. Wallace and the Tri-County Baptist Association to purchase frames for the National Motto "In God We Trust" posters to be displayed in each classroom, school auditorium, and cafeteria.
• Discussed confidential legal/personnel matters in executive sessions.
• Received the monthly financial status report.
• Recessed the meeting until Thursday, June 28, 2001, at 7:00 p.m. for the purpose of considering bids received for an irrigation system/landscaping at Columbia High School and to conduct other matters of business deemed necessary.
