The Board of Trustees:

Approved minutes of previous meeting.
·
Received the monthly financial status report.

Heard a report on district building facilities.

Approved payment of accounts.

Received the monthly reports on bus repairs/expenses and the use of
school buses for special events.

Gave second approval of revisions to Section D of the District’s School
Board Policy Manual.
·
Approved a request to dispose of one printer, tag #4379, which is
beyond repair.

Approved requests to travel out-of-state.
·
Authorized the district to submit a SPED Extended School Year project
application.
·
Gave second approval of revisions to the District’s Student Code of Conduct &
Discipline Plan, student/parent handbooks, and the Columbia High School
Cheerleader Constitution for the 2005-2006 school year.
·
Granted first
approval of revisions to District Policy JCBFA “Reporting of Unlawful or
Violent Acts”.
·
Expelled and placed
one student in the district’s alternative program for the remainder of the
2004-2005 school year.
·
Discussed
confidential personnel matters in executive session.
·
Accepted
employment resignations submitted by Tanya Drake, guidance secretary at CHS,
April 1, 2005; Wanda Grenn, secretary at CHS, effective April 8, 2005; Jacklyn
Quin-Williams, TA at CES, effective April 30, 2005; Penny Wood, PreK teacher at
CPS, K-1; Natalie McShea, TA at CPS, K-1; Shelly Blackard, music/chorus TA at
JMS; Brandon Tucker, social studies teacher at CHS, Anita Johnson, cafeteria
worker; and Karen Johnson, case manager for special services; for the purpose
of retirement, effective at the end of the 2004-2005 school year.

Approved the employment of Angie
Adams (JMS), Sophia Bickham (JMS), Rosa Thompson (JMS), Gail Stephens (CES),
Wynne Maily (CPS, 2-3), Regina Ford (CPS, 2-3), Christine Expose (CPS, K-1),
Robert Knight (CHS), Dee Dee Randall (CHS), Rebecca L. McDaniel (CHS), Jennifer
Branch (CHS), Doug Norris (CHS), Kathryn Parker (CHS), and Robert Cheatham (CHS
Driver’s Education) as teachers for the 2005 extended school year/summer school
program; and Tammy
Smith, music teacher, to conduct a summer music camp for second and third grade
students at Columbia Primary School, June 6-10, 2005.

Approved certified employment recommendations for the 2005-2006 school
year.
·
Heard a report from the Superintendent which included contracted
services provided by Kelly Services and Jani King.
