cash donations from the following: Bill and Janet Weiskopf in the amount of
$500.00 for the purchase of athletic equipment, the ExxonMobil Foundation in
the amount of $500.00 for the Fast Pitch Softball Program, Columbia Pee Wee
Program in the amount of $200.00 for the CHS Football Program and $200.00 for
the CHS Band Program, and WFFF Radio and Mr. Ronnie Geiger in the amount of
$476.25 to buy prom glasses for the 2004 Senior Prom.

2385, 2423, 2363, 2364, 2366 & 2356; one typewriter, tag #816; one TV
converter, tag #2086; one tape back up, tag #3313; and one
refrigerator/freezer, tag #837.

Approved
requests from administrators for permission to conduct the following
fundraisers: CHS Student Council to sell raffle tickets for $1.00 per ticket
for a chance to win a $30.00 dinner gift certificate to O'Charley's and two
movie tickets and the CHS Dugout Club to sponsor a Hit-A-Thon featuring the
2004 Wildcats and a Mini Baseball Camp for Columbia students in K-5 through 6
grade on Saturday, February 14, 2004.

Gave
first approval of revisions to the district student uniform dress code.

Adopted
the 2005 budget calendar.
·
Granted
authorization to pay costs incurred as a result of the private placement of a
student at the National Deaf Academy in Mount Dora, Florida for the remainder
of the current school year.

Authorized
the district to pursue the possibility of implementing a Summer Food Service
Program.
·
Approved
the salary schedule for the position of district computer technician for the
fiscal year 2004.
·
Discussed
confidential legal and personnel matters in executive session.
·
Granted
two employees maternity leave.
·
Accepted
employment resignations submitted by Melissa Polk, bus driver, effective
January 13, 2004; Lillie S. McNair, teacher assistant at CES, effective
February 6, 2004; and Dr. Thomas H. Blakeney, assistant superintendent, effective
June 30, 2004.

Approved
employment of following persons for the remainder of the 2003-2004 school year
pending the results of a current background check as required by State law:
Michael Bullock as district computer technician; Antonio Johnson as a full time
bus driver, effective January 13, 2004; Jessie Averett as a substitute
cafeteria worker, effective January 29, 2004; Betty Turner as a substitute
cafeteria worker; and Tanya H. Drake, Susie L. Echols, Amy D. LaBue, Perry E.
Lawley, Deborah L. Lawrence, Mary Rebecca Lawrence, Melinda L. Prats, and
Kensley L. Waller as substitute teachers.
