The Board of Trustees:

Approved minutes of previous meeting.
·
Heard a report on student enrollment.
·
Heard a report on district facilities.
·
Received the monthly financial status report.
·
Received the FY 2003 audit report.
·
Approved the amended 2004-2005 ad valorem tax
request worksheet.
·
Adopted a resolution declaring an ad valorem tax
shortfall during the 2003-2004 fiscal year and authorization to issue a
shortfall loan.
·
Approved the claims docket for payment of accounts.
·
Acknowledged the report on bus repairs/expenses and the monthly report
on the use of school buses for special events.
·
Approved requests to dispose of the following equipment that is beyond
repair: two computers, tag #s 4043 &
2353; one printer, tag # 3440; and one overhead projector, tag #344.
·
Approved requests for permission to conduct fundraisers: CHS Baseball
team sell Coke products, August 16-30, 2004; CHS Cheerleaders sell Columbia
Wildcat paraphernalia (blankets, yard signs, flags, removable tattoos,
ribbon/pins, and homecoming Mums); JMS PTA sell discount cards, September 1
through October 15, 2004; CPS (2-3) PTA organize a catalog sale (gifts,
wrapping paper, candy, etc.) with Merik, Inc. in the fall and sell World’s
Finest Chocolate after Christmas; and the CHS Band Boosters to sell CHS Wildcat
flags, car tags, earrings, and keychains.

Authorized the district to apply for a Mississippi Power Education Foundation
grant in the amount of $10,000 for the purpose of developing a new strategic
plan for the school district during the 2004-2005 and the 2005-2006 school
years.
·
Accepted a cash donation in the amount of $500.00 from the ExxonMobil
Foundation designated for the CHS varsity cheerleaders.
·
Approved a request for permission to travel out-of-state.
·
Authorized submission of an application for funding IDEA, Part B and
Preschool project for FY 2005 and approved the required Statement of
Assurances.
·
Approved requests from employees, living out of the district, for their
children to attend

school year: Brandi Perry as an English teacher at CHS, Melody Hicks as a math
teacher at CHS, William Rackley as a science teacher at CHS and as an assistant
8th grade football coach and assistant fast pitch softball coach,
Jennifer Branch as a biology teacher at CHS, William Kraemer as in-school
detention monitor at CHS, Deedee Randall as the after school Nova Net credit
recovery instructor, James Christopher Turnage as supervisor of the
after-school Detention Program at CHS, Donna Regan as a special education
teacher at JMS, Robert White as the seventh grade math teacher at JMS and as an
assistant 8th grade football coach, Tiffanee L. Franklin as a
teacher assistant at CES, Joseph Campbell and Emmite Lee as janitors at CPS,
K-1, Laura Horne as a substitute custodian at CHS, Darren O. Smith as an
assistant varsity football coach, and Teresa Baxter as a part-time technology
worker.
