The Board of Trustees:
·
Approved minutes of previous meeting.
·
Received the monthly financial status report.
·
Heard a report on district facilities.
·
Approved the claims docket for payment of accounts.
·
Acknowledged the report on bus repairs/expenses and the monthly report
on the use of school buses for special events.
·
Gave second approval of revisions to Sections F and K of the District’s
School Board Policy Manual.
·
Approved requests to dispose of the following equipment that is beyond
repair: one overhead projector, tag #2492; one computer, tag #140; one
hard-drive, tag #1406; two VCRs, tag #s 1389 & 1270; one freezer, tag
#1027; one CD radio/cassette recorder, tag #2819; one cashier stand, tag #2770;
and two hand-held radios, tag #s 1890 & 1891.

Approved requests for permission to travel out-of-state.
·
Approved a request for permission for the CES Challenge classes to
travel out-of-state on a field trip.
·
Accepted a proposal from Mississippi School
Pictures to take school day pictures at
·
Approved requests from district employees, who reside out of the
district, for their children to attend
·
Approved a request for permission for the JMS
Student Council to conduct a powder-puff football game on
·
Approved the recommendation to add vision insurance with Starmount to the
district’s insurance and fringe benefits program and the IRS Section 125
Cafeteria Plan for 2006.
·
Approved the District's Test Security Plan and the accompanying
Statement of Assurances.
·
Accepted employment resignations submitted by Emmite Lee, custodian at
Columbia Primary School (K-1); Katie Maliden, teacher assistant at Columbia
Elementary School; and Edna Maria Edwards, English teacher at Columbia High
School.
·
Approved the employment of the following persons for the remainder of
the 2005-2006 school year: Lashun Dillon as a part-time teacher assistant in
fourth grade, Magnolia Webber as bookkeeper and Robin Anderson and Cathy Anderson
Cotton as clock operators for district basketball games, Mary Carter as the
in-school suspension monitor for Columbia High School, and Sherry Spencer as a
substitute cafeteria worker.

Heard a report from the Superintendent which consisted of the following:
a letter of appreciation from Pascagoula School District recognizing Marvin
Adams, technology coordinator, and Aleise Henry and Michael Bullock,
technicians, for their donation of time to assist the Pascagoula School
District to get their technology equipment up and running to reopen school
after Hurricane Katrina, and was informed of the Columbia High School Marching
Band performance (2nd place winner) and that the 2006 summer band
trip to Hawaii will be changed to another destination.

Discussed confidential legal matters in executive session.
·
Discussed the following: (1) Concerns about the arrest of a child
molester who was residing across from the
