word processor, tag # 4094; one
fax/copier, tag # 2665; three hubs, tag #s 1662, 1993, 2416; two switches, tag
#s 4480 & 2422; one CDR drive, tag # 3458; and one overhead projector, tag
#1501.

Approved the
following fund raiser activities: CHS
Football Touchdown Club to hold a lift-a-thon on May 12, 2007; CHS Basketball
Booster Club to hold a summer basketball league on Tuesdays and Thursdays for
students in grades 9-12, May 29 through June 28, 2007; and CHS Basketball
Booster Club to hold a basketball camp for students in grades 1–8, July 9 -12,
2007.

Accepted a cash
donation from ExxonMobil in the amount of $1,000.00 to be used towards the
upkeep of the Outdoor Classroom at

Authorized the
Columbia High School Band to conduct its annual Band Camp on the campus of

Granted Regina
Allen, media specialist, and Dal Murray, teacher, permission to travel outside
the continental limits of the

Approved a
parent’s request for her child to be released from the

Authorized the
District to obtain quotes from various vendors for the purchase of a test data
tracking program.

Gave first
approval of revisions to School Board Policy JCBJA “Random Drug Testing”.

Approved the
revised 2007-2008 salary handbook.
·
Accepted
employment resignations submitted by Roland Brown, custodian at Columbia
Elementary School; Berry Nell Budjick, teacher assistant at Columbia Primary
School (2-3); Norma Carr, bus driver; Jane Curtis, teacher assistant at
Columbia Primary School (2-3); Paul Jackson, custodian at Columbia High School;
and Patsy Speights, secretary/bookkeeper at Columbia Primary School (2-3), for
the purpose of retirement; Brandi Fortenberry, teacher assistant at Columbia
Primary School (2-3); Michelle Johnson, cafeteria manager at Columbia Primary
School; Amanda Reed, special education teacher at Jefferson Middle School; Christal
Young, math teacher at Jefferson Middle School; Cecily Lewis, English
teacher/Jazz Catz sponsor at Columbia High School; and Donna Martin, cashier at
Jefferson Middle School, effective May 8, 2007.

Approved the employment of the
following persons for the remainder of the 2006-2007 school year: Jenny Watts as a substitute teacher; Rebecca L. McDaniel, Maryanne Simpson, Jennifer
Branch, Katie Bell, and Robert Knight (CHS); Sophia Bickham, Rosa Thompson, and
Robert White (JMS); Cathy Cotton (CES); and Wynne Maily, Gus Maily, and Renea Prine
(CPS) as teachers for the 2007 Extended School Year program on an as need
basis; Robert Cheatham as summer school/driver’s education teacher at Columbia
High School June 4 – July 9, 2007; Joyce Fortenberry (speech/language
pathologist), Donna Regan (special education) and Pauline Carson (assistant) as
teachers for the SPED Extended School Year program; and Angela Singley as a
substitute cafeteria worker.

Approved classified employment recommendations for the 2007-2008 school
year.
·
Granted the district authorization to advertise for bids for a new
football scoreboard to include twenty-five second clocks.
·
Received end-of-the-year school events calendar and administrative
staff meeting minutes.
·
Discussed
