The Board of Trustees:

School board member, Mr. Les Peters, took an oath of office as school
board trustee for a one year term.
·
Approved minutes of previous meeting.
·
Presented a certificate of recognition to Mrs. Ruth Crosby, 2005
District Parent of Year; and congratulated her son, Taylor, who has been named

Heard a report on district facilities.
·
Received the monthly financial status report.
·
Approved the claims docket for payment of current accounts.
·
Acknowledged the report on bus repairs/expenses and the monthly report
on the use of school buses for special events.
·
Approved requests to dispose of the following equipment that is beyond
repair: two UPS and adapters, tag #s 1664 & 903; two fiber converters, tag
#s 3127 & 1965; fourteen computers, tag #s 2500, 2319, 702, 2370, 1986,
2201, 1999, 1941, 1940, 912, 2002, 1998, 1453, & 2534; one air
conditioners, tag #465; two six-foot tables, tag #s 3680 & 3681; one
kinderchair, tag #4042; three cassette/recorder players, tag #s 3168, 1793,
& 4082; two record players, tag #s 2482 & 2472; one film strip
projector, tag #2447; five calculators, tag #s 2629, 2633, 2634, 2637, &
2638; nine printers, tag #s 898, 1455, 2220, 3162, 2094, 2077, 2550, 3281,
& 3354; one barcode scanner, tag #2207; one globe cart, tag #2241; nine
overhead projectors, tag #s 1013, 2300, 790, 1016, 1015, 2057, 3092, 1360,
& 2055; one chair, tag #4060; and one vacuum cleaner, tag #3635.

Granted the CHS Band Boosters permission to conduct a ribeye steak
dinner and garage sale on

Accepted a proposal from Lifetouch National School Studio to take

Gave second approval of the revised district student uniform dress code
effective with the 2005-2006 school year.
·
Approved an increase in the price of an adult breakfast from $1.25 to
$1.40 effective with the 2005-2006 school year as
stated by the State Office of Child Nutrition.
·
Gave first approval of revisions to the District Student Code of Conduct & Discipline Plan, student/parent handbooks, and the Columbia
High School Cheerleader Constitution for the 2005-2006 school year.
·
Granted first approval of revisions to Section D of the District’s
School Board Policy Manual.
·
Discussed confidential legal matters in executive session.
·
Expelled and placed one student in the district’s alternative program
for the remainder of the 2004-2005 school year and
expelled two students for one calendar year.
·
Accepted employment resignations submitted by Pamalan Blanden, special
education teacher at Columbia Primary School, for the purpose of retirement,
effective at the end of the 2004-2005 school year; and Brandy Newman, third
grade teacher at Columbia Primary School, effective at the end of the 2004-2005
school year.
·
Approved the recommendation to move Mrs. Cathy Creel, Assistant
Principal at

Heard a report from the Superintendent which consisted of recognition
from the State Auditor for the district’s exemplary stewardship of fixed asset management and notification
