The Board of Trustees:

Received certificates and gifts of appreciation in celebration of
School Board Member Recognition Week in

Recognized Mrs. Gayle Knight, 2006 Administrator of the Year; Mr. Doug

Acknowledged concerns expressed by a parent.
·
Approved minutes of previous meetings.
·
Received the monthly financial status report.
·
Heard a report on district facilities.
·
Approved the claims docket for payment of accounts.
·
Acknowledged the report on bus repairs/expenses and the monthly report
on the use of school buses for special events.
·
Approved requests to dispose of one cordless phone, tag #3988, and one
television, tag #1482; which are beyond repair.
·
Approved requests for permission to travel out-of-state.

Granted the third grade classes at

Approved requests for permission to conduct the following fund raisers:
CHS Fastpitch Hit-a-Thon on March 1, 2006; CHS Annual Staff to sell raffle tickets
for a chance to win an iPod; and JMS Band to sell World’s Finest Chocolate
February 27 – March 31, 2006.

Authorized the district to submit a competitive grant under Enhancing
Education Through Technology and granted approval of the statement of
assurances.

Gave second approval of the revised job description for custodians.
·
Approved the 2006-2007 school year calendar.
·
Certified that the district will budget sufficient funds to the cover
the district’s portion of services and equipment received from E-rate funds.

Accepted employment resignations submitted by Edward Ruffin, bus
driver, and Leonard Maxwell, custodian at
· Approved the employment of the following persons for the remainder of the 2005-2006 school year: Sarah Burkett as a music teacher assistant at Columbia Elementary School and Columbia Primary School; Claire Von Gahlen as a library assistant at Columbia Primary School; Pam Blanden as a full time bus driver; Marcus Miller as a substitute bus aide for the special needs bus; Baxter White as an unpaid volunteer baseball assistant; and Jo Ellen Carr and Betty Finley as substitute teachers.
· Approved the recommendation for continued employment of district administrators for the 2006-2007 school year.

Received a list
of possible poll workers for the upcoming school board election on
·
Suspended School
Board Policy GBBAA for instructional personnel employed during the 2005-2006 school year. Upon revision of the competencies required to
enhance teaching performance, instructional personnel hired during the
2005-2006 and 2006-2007 school year will be required to show mastery of the
appropriate technology competencies.
· Discussed confidential legal matters in executive session.
